The Wedding of Sarah & Callum on Saturday 25th April

Callum & Sarah were married on Saturday at the gorgeous St Paul's Anglican Church in Kincumber. The day was all about a celebration of their love and commitment to each other and they had a fantastic time mingling with their family and friends both after the ceremony and on the balcony of the Avoca Surf Life Saving Club, where their reception was being held. These guys were cool, calm and collected the whole day. We got a few shots around the church before heading back to Avoca Beach for a few more photos. We managed to get some great shots in a short time which allowed the whole bridal party to spend more time with the guests on the balcony watching the sun set. Lots of people travelled for their wedding as Callum is originally from New Zealand. During the night this meant that the boys got up and performed a Haka... very cool! It wet our appetite more to travel to New Zealand very soon so that we can see the countryside and traditions up close and personal. We're banking on going next year when our little girl is just that little bit older (she's only 3 months old at present). We had a great day at Sarah & Callum's wedding and hope that everyone there did also! Hope you like the shots below!!

The Wedding of Amanda & Jim on the 24th April 2009

On Friday I had the pleasure of shooting Amanda & Jim's wedding. We first met these guys when Amanda was a bridesmaid for Cathy & Craig, so it was lovely to be able to capture their special memories and also catch up with Cathy & Craig who now have a little boy! Congratulations to you both! Amanda & Jim had a beautiful day to get married, and every aspect of their day was picture perfect. They were married in the Greek Orthodox Church in Hamilton which was amazing!! I mean... check out those chandeliers!! It is always so nice to be able to share in different church ceremonies with our bridal couples and get to see different traditions celebrated. We traveled around Newcastle to capture their stunning wedding images of which I have posted a few below. Both of them were great to photograph and the bridal party were very cool and easy going and that just makes my job so easy! We also had the pleasure of photographing in the Town Hall on King Street which was just spectacular! The night was a great success and everyone had there dancing boots on and hit the dance floor after the speeches were all done. Thanks guys for letting me be a part of your special day and I hope that everyone loves their wedding images!!

A Testimonial of our work from Larissa & Shane

Thank you for making us feel so comfortable all day long on our wedding day! We never felt as though we were posing for the photographs. Justin, you took control but were never over bearing so we knew that the photographs you were taking were going to be great! Before the wedding you were always prompt in returning emails which was great. Especially in times of panic! Thank you both so much for all of your fantastic work. We never felt as though we were just another couple. You are really good at what you do! Thank you again. :) So, if you are thinking about coming to see us to talk more about your day please don't hesitate to give us a call or send us an email to arrange a time. Onda Ristorante Celebrates it's 5th Birthday!

Onda celebrated it's 5th birthday last week and we were asked to come along so that we could get some shots of the party in action. The atmosphere was great... the food terrific... a great time was had by all! The band was just terrific - their name was Straight no Chaser and they're just coming on to the scene. If you're after some live entertainment I can definitely recommend them after hearing them. The singer has even been in Australian Idol so there's a little bit of fame in the band too! In the middle of the evening two members of the Rhythm Hunters showed their skills with some drumming - absolutely amazing! Again, something you should check out if you are looking for some entertainment! The food was just stunning and it really is a lovely place. If you're thinking of going out to eat or having a function or wedding - check it out as you wont be disappointed!! Of course the night ended with cake and singing of Happy Birthday.... very yummy indeed!

Jessica and Dean's Hunter Valley Wedding 18th April 2009

Another perfect day! That's the only way I can decribe this wedding. Jessica and Dean chose Casuarina Estate to have their ceremony and reception. This was the first wedding we have shot at the Estate and hopefully not our last... I thought it was amazing! The whole day went without a hiccup (except for a 5 min delay when one of the bridal cars decided to have a rest) and while it looked like it was going to start pouring down with rain during the garden ceremony the heavens held out and we hardly got a drop. The whole bridal party were relaxed and even quite organized which gave me plenty of time to capture some very cool shots. I experimented with a very high key shot (3rd pic down) in the morning and I think it looks amazing! After having a look through their photos I think I captured some great images again and its going to be a pretty spectacular album by the time I'm finished with it!! Hope you like the photos of their big day! We have a busy week coming up with two more weddings this weekend (Newcastle on Friday and the Coast on Saturday) so check back soon to see what we come up with. And if you have time drop us a line and let us know what you think... we love to get feedback on what people think!

Thinking of updating your image?

Daniel from Sanchez Property contacted us last week wanting some corporate shots for their new website. They wanted something a little more dynamic then standard head shots. While we tend to specialize in the wedding and portrait markets and I tend to live and breath weddings it is always good to shoot different styles and continue to grow as a photographer. So if you are thinking of updating your image, give us a call as I am sure we can give you something new and fresh.

Olivia & Michael's E-Shoot

We shot Olivia & Michael's pre-wedding shoot a few days ago right on sunset.... and what a beautiful sunset it was as you can see by the images below! We met Olivia & Michael about a month ago at a bridal fair that we were at and soon after booked them for their special day. The shoot nearly didn't go ahead as Michael was caught in a bit of traffic on the way, but he did make it and we got some great images for the two of them. Send us an email and let us know what you think of their photographs!

The Wedding of Rebecca and Michael - Saturday 11th April 2009

What a gorgeous wedding Carla and I have just photographed... Usually it's just me that shoots a wedding, but Carla was booked in a little while ago to come along and capture some great shots too! There was another person who came to their wedding also though... a special mention needs to go to our 3 month old daughter Bella who decided, at the last minute, that she couldn't bare to be away from mum for a day, so with a baby sitter in tow we all headed for a day in Sydney to shoot the wedding and Carla ducked off for a quick feed every 2 or 3 hours. Lucky she's still a tiny bubba and sleeps for most of the day as our babysitter just got to watch movies all day long. :) Bec got ready at her parents home near the city and we then travelled to the truly inspiring St Johns Anglican Church in Camden for their wedding ceremony. The Pastor of St Johns also allowed Bec & Michael's own pastor to be involved in the ceremony which was lovely for the couple. As you can see from some of the photos we have posted, the gorgeous church allowed us to capture some amazing images for the newly weds!!! After some afternoon tea at the church with their guests we headed down the road to a completely new reception venue for us - Gledswood Function Centre. Man... what an amazing place for our photo shoot! Both Bec and Michael were so great to work with (if you can call it work ;)) The entire bridal party made our job easy as everyone was relaxed and having fun all day long. You couldn't wipe the smile off Bec's face all day and Michael was a doting husband already. And, what fantastic parents these two have also - so friendly and willing and able to help out with anything. After looking through the photos to pick a few for this Blog we simply had too many to choose from so we decided to post a few more than usual for you all to see. Have a great honeymoon guys and we will see you both really soon so that you can see the rest of your wedding images.

Corporate Shoot for the LAKEHOUSE Café at Murrays Beach

We were recently contacted by the LAKEHOUSE Café to take some photographs of their venue as they were shooting an advertisement to show off their great venue and also wanted some photographs for their website. It was a really beautiful area and would make a great spot for a wedding, or, if you're up for a little drive from the Coast (about an hour from Erina), for a relaxing afternoon enjoying some of the great food that they have on offer while you take in the great views of Lake Macquarie. It also has a great playground that's about a one minute walk from the café for the kids to enjoy.... Matthew loved it! As they were shooting an ad for TV they needed some extras as well so we were roped in to that too and the whole family was front row and centre for the café shot... very exciting! Maybe I should get Matthew & Bella into show business as they did everything that we told them too (even if Bella's job was just to sit on my lap and look gorgeous). Matthew pointed at all the birds and smiled on queue - what a good little boy! Well, here are a few shots from the shoot... you really should check the Café out as it's a really lovely spot! And, if you are planning a wedding and haven't booked a venue yet this might just be the one... :) Also... if you are planning your big day come and speak to us... you're guaranteed some AMAZING shots with unique perspectives!! Check out the following photos which show off the cafe and what can be achieved with Justin behind the camera on your big day!!!

The Wedding of Nicola and Rhys on Sunday 5th April

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Nicola and Rhys' wedding. It was a perfect day in between all of the rainy days that we have been having of late so it just must have been meant to be! Nic & Rhys exchanged their vows at The Pines at Avoca Beach and then we headed to a few different places for some photos. I just loved Nic's shoes... they went perfectly with the girls flowers when she was spinning her dress around!! And... what a sunset! It just made for beautiful shots before heading to the Crowne Plaza for their reception. It was a great day and I hope that you like the shots I've posted... be sure to view them with their online gallery in two weeks if you were a guest at their wedding! :)

A Happy Couple

A few days ago we received an email from a couple that we photographed in Coonabarabran (Carla's home town) in June 2008. It was so nice to get such glowing feedback nearly a year from their wedding date and goes to show that your wedding photographs should bring back vividly the memories of one of the most special days of your life! Suzy & Craig wrote: "I just thought I'd drop you a quick line to once again say a huge thank you to you both. Nearly 12 months on and I still look at my wedding album all the time and am always amazed at just how wonderful the photo's are. I am just packing to go home to Coona for the first time since the wedding and couldn't put the box into my suitcase without having another little look. I just felt like I wanted to tell you again how happy we were with the photographs that you both took. So thanks guys, you have given Craig and I some wonderful memories of a wonderful day". Thanks for your kind words guys, and we hope that your journey through life together is full of many more special memories!! I've posted a few photos from their day for everyone to enjoy...
