Lauren & Jay are getting married very soon so, after having to cancel once or twice due to bad weather, popped down to the beach the other day for their e-shoot. I thought I'd pop up a few pic's from their shoot. We hope that you like them! And we're really looking forward to your big day guys... it will be here in a blink of an eye!!! :)
Its award time again, which means the best photographers from across Australia enter up to 4 images to be judged by their fellow peers. Being part of the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers) we enter into the NSW state awards which happened around 2 months ago and then the APPA's (Australian Professional Photography Awards) which is a national competition and it was in Melbourne just last weekend. Members of the AIPP who enter the APPA's can be awarded points for each image which is at an award winning standard. If an entrant can obtain enough points (win enough awards) within a certain time frame they can achieve a status of Associate and then Master within the AIPP. After this years awards and winning awards at both the state and national level I am very excited to tell you that Justin has obtained enough points in the 3 years of entering to achieve an Associate Member status, and next year he will be out to win awards to gain points towards the Master status with the AIPP. I have uploaded one of the award winning photographs that achieved a Silver With Distinction at this years APPA's for you to check out... And you may ask... why do we think awards are important? Well each weekend while shooting a wedding it's great to challenge yourself to capture a moment in time or create an image that you can put up at award time and be proud of. It's just another way to push ourselves to be the best we can.
Meagan & Luke must be some of the luckiest people on the planet! Not only did they find each other and get married last Saturday (YAY!!), but, after days and days of rain in the lead up to their wedding day, the day of their wedding was absolutely perfect weather. The next day as Justin & I were relaxing, at about 2pm (which was their ceremony starting time the previous day) we started to hear the pitter patter of rain on our roof, which then turned in to a downpour. So, in summary, there really was someone looking out for the two of them to make their day special. And it really was a fantastic day too. The outdoor ceremony at Pearl Beach was full of emotion and Meagan & Luke just could not wipe the smiles off their faces that they were becoming man & wife with the knowledge that they would now be able to share the rest of their lives together. Meagan looked stunning and the little touches that they had arranged like special signs to get their guests safely to the ceremony, bird cages, hand made cake decorations of birds and much more helped to add to the excitement of their day. It also is a very small world because, as I was looking through the photographs I saw many familiar faces from students (well they're not students any longer) that I had taught or known from the school that I teach at. I've even put in a shot of Courtney & Alicia (two past students) having a great old time on the dance floor... what dancing skills! And to add to that a lot of the guests go to EV which is the church that we go to also. Most go to a different service time to us but it is still a very small world! But enough about us as it is all about Meagan and Luke. I hope that you like these photographs that I have uploaded. If you were a guest at their reception and you didn't pick up a card to log in and view the rest of their wedding photographs feel free to send me an email and I can forward on the login details to you.
